I’m Jordan Ligtvoet, founder of Ligtvoet Imports. My story is simple: grinding, burnout, reflection, and a choice to pursue what I love instead of what I was told to love. I’m a mechanical engineer turned consultant who spent years in factories, conference rooms, and in front of screens before realizing there's more to life than cubicles.
There’s nothing inspiring about an Excel spreadsheet (unless you're a quant at Goldman). I couldn't take the traffic any more, the commutes, talking to the same 5 people every day. I missed being outside, the smell of gas and oil in a shop, scraped knuckles, the sound of an old truck firing back to life. That's what gets me going. Driving around in an old car is the absolute best. Pulling up next to a brand new, hideously plastic 60k monstrosity in a 25 year old beauty is unparalleled. The trip to the beach, the mountains, dinner in the city, all made thousands of times sweeter by the ole girl that got you there.
There’s pride in new, but there’s honor in preserving something with history. To be a caretaker — adding your own chapter to a truck’s story — that’s what this is about.
